It took courage.
One year of operating the cupcake truck flew by, my commissary lease was up and it was time to look ahead to the future. Where did I want to take this business?
What once felt like a huge gamble of my savings and the sacrifice of completing my college education, was now a bonafide cupcake business followed by many cupcake lovers around Chicago. It was as if the universe heard my thoughts because a store front became available on the very same block of my commissary. To be honest, I sat fearful on the unsigned lease for probably longer that I should have! I didn't know what I would do with all 1800 square feet. I only managed one employee thus far, I didn't know the first thing about hiring contractors to fix it up, everything was about to get real complicated.
I did the math.
How many cupcakes do I need to sell in order make rent? How much money do I need for build out? I made a business plan in order to map out operations, goals, and budgets. And in the same spirit of buying the food truck I said to myself, "I can do this. What's the worst that could happen?!" Little did I know those thoughts were the budding entrepreneur inside of me.
More than cupcakes.
When we opened our doors it was more than cupcakes on the shelves, I dove deep into developing pastries that I enjoyed eating - buttermilk biscuits, flaky croissants, cookies, scones, muffins and more. It wasn't long before we expanded the menu further by filling a niche in Elmhurst for boutique breakfast. Come on in for quiche Lorraine, spicy chilaquiles, and fluffy buttermilk pancakes.
Our space is unique.
But casual and serves up delicious freshly prepared meals.
We do it fast casual style so that you'll feel comfortable enjoying a full breakfast or lunch or a brief visit for pastry or coffee.
We have plenty of outlets to plug in and enjoy our free WiFi as your satellite office.
We are super family friendly with a kids menu any child will enjoy which includes fresh fruit and a choice of beverage.

Cupcakes are our specialty but that doesn't mean our pastries are second rate!
As far as cupcakes go, we have at least 14 different flavors daily, with one being a bakers whim which changes weekly, monthly, and with the season. Be sure to pick up a Gluten Free Banana Cream Pie (one of my personal favorites) as well as a Pink Velvet.
Our pastries are made with the same love and attention. To name a few fan favorites would be our pistachio croissants, blueberry muffins, and funfetti cake donuts.
